SUDBURY – The Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League announced Friday its schedule for the 2015-16 season.
A total of 324 games will be played throughout the campaign commencing Friday, Sept. 11, with all 12 NOJHL clubs in action.
That night will feature the home openers for the Espanola Express, Cochrane Crunch, Elliot Lake Wildcats, French River Rapids, Kirkland Lake Gold Miners and the Soo Thunderbirds.
The following evening the Rayside-Balfour Canadians, Soo Eagles, Blind River Beavers, Iroquois Falls Eskis and Timmins Rock make the home debuts.
Monday, Sept. 14 will feature the Powassan Voodoos skating in their initial home contest of the season.
Each NOJHL member team will take to the ice in 54 games, 27 as the home side and 27 as the visitors.
The regular season is slated to conclude on Wednesday, March 9, 2016.
Of note the Family Day match-up between the defending NOJHL and Dudley-Hewitt Cup champion Thunderbirds and the Soo Eagles on Monday, Feb. 15 will be played at Pullar Stadium in Sault Ste. Marie, Mich, however the Thunderbirds will serve as the home team in that contest.
