NOJHL names its Eastlink TV 3 Stars of the Week

SUDBURY, Ont. – The Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League (NOJHL) announced Monday that forwards Daniel Vasic (Blind River Beavers) and Ben Lacroix (Greater Sudbury Cubs), along with goaltender Noah Tegelaar (Blind River Beavers) have been named its Eastlink TV 3 Stars of the Week, for the period ending December 10.

DANIEL VASIC, (F) BLIND RIVER BEAVERS: Supplying the game-winning goal in each of the Beavers three victories last week, Vasic was clutch when called upon.

The 17-year-old Newmarket, Ont., product also dished out a pair of assists along the way in helping Blind River extend a current NOJHL-best winning streak to 10 consecutive contests.

Since joining the club back in early November, Vasic has etched his name on the game sheet, in each of the 11 games he has played to date, including providing seven multi-point affairs, while having scored in four straight.

BEN LACROIX, (F) GREATER SUDBURY CUBS:
Pacing the league-leading Cubs offensively during the time frame, Lacroix tallied three times, and helped set-up two others, in tacking on two more triumphs to their NOJHL-best win total of 26.

Skating for his hometown Sudbury side, the 20-year-old forward produced back-to-back multiple point performances, including notching a pair of power play markers, and a shorthanded effort, in decisions over French River and Powassan.

Having scored four times in his past three games, and picking a half-dozen points, Lacroix is closing in on personal single-season bests in markers, helpers and points.

NOAH TEGELAAR, (G) BLIND RIVER BEAVERS:
Doing his part to aid Blind River running their winning streak to double digits, Tegelaar won both his starts last week.

With positive results over division rivals, the Soo Eagles and Soo Thunderbirds, the 18-year-old from Georgetown, Ont., sported a 1.50 goals-against average and a .955 save percentage over the past seven days.

Tegelaar has come away victorious in each of his past six appearances for the Beavers and currently leads the NOJHL in GAA at 2.00 and is tied for first in both SV% and shutouts at .927 and three, respectively.
