ESPANOLA, Ont. – Noah Minns tallied twice and had an assist on the game-winner while Caleb Serre reached the century mark in offensive production Friday as the Blind River Beavers defeated the Espanola Express 5-2 in a Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League meeting at the Regional Recreation Complex.

Blind River gained the upper hand early with first period goals from Milos Todorovic and A.J. Campbell.

On the power play early in the second stanza, the Express got on track at 1:09 with an extra-man effort from Lukas Lyszyk.

Coming right back, Espanola got another a couple of shifts later thanks to Jaydyn Parnell’s equalizer.

However, Minns helped get the puck to Ethan Graham as his first of the season put the Beavers back in front for good at 12:07.

Minns then helped secure the road triumph with a pair of markers in the third, including one on the power play, to wrap-up the night’s scoring.

Blind River captain Serre dished out three assists in the match-up to give him 100 points on the season as he continues his terrific run for the Beavers.

Dominic Boily made 28 saves to record the win for his club while Joel Rainville faced 39 attempts in a losing cause for the Express.
