BLIND RIVER, Ont. – The Cochrane Crunch collected a goal in each period to help them defeat the Blind River Beavers 3-2 in Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League play Saturday at Blind River Community Centre.
Heading deep into the first frame, Cochrane connected on the power play to grab the lead as Justin Bofshever supplied his 10th of the season at 17:04.
Blind River came back in the second stanza to knot the affair at 1-1 three and a half minutes into the session with Brendan Young picking up his 12th for the Beavers.
The Crunch regained the lead at 8:39 as Zach Hayes and Hunter Buzzi combined to set-up Baldino Aiello for his sixth of the campaign.
In the final frame the visitors picked up some insurance at 19:07 with an Austin Whelan empty net effort to put the guests up by two.
It turned out they would need that final tally as Blind River came back to pull within one on a man advantage marker from Lucas Adams with 25 seconds left to make it interesting right to the end.
However, Cochrane regrouped from there to hold on for the road win.
Bradley Dobson was busy making 41 saves to record the victory for the Crunch while Garret Boyonoski faced 40 shots in defeat for the Beavers.
