SUDBURY, Ont. – Yet Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League player from the 2018-19 season has committed to further both his career and education.
Blind River Beavers forward Brendan Young will be attending SUNY-Plattsburgh in the fall where he will attend school and skate for the Cardinals men’s program who are members of the State University of New York Athletic Conference.
The 20-year-old from Lefroy, Ont., had a solid year in Blind River this past campaign as he led the Beavers in offensive production with a team-high 70 points that featured 26 goals and a club-best 44 assists.
Young’s totals saw him finish fifth overall in league scoring and was third in assists.
He also tied for eighth in power play tallies with eight.
During the 2018-19 campaign Young was also named to the NOJHL West roster that competed in the Eastern Canada Cup Challenge back in November.
