Blind River Goalie goes D3

A late starter has made a fast climb.

20-year old goalie Dylan Knox, who did not start playing ice hockey until he was 16, is off to play at the National Collegiate Athletic Association level.

Knox, who spent the 2013-2014 season with the Blind River Beavers of the Northern Ontario Jr. Hockey League, is headed to the Framingham State University Rams of the Division 3, Massachussets Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC.)

Knox was named winner of both the coaches award and players award with Blind River during the 2013-2014 season.

Playing on a Blind River squad that won just 10 of 56 regular-season games and one of five playoff matches in 2013-2014, Knox posted an overall record of 3-23-0 with a 4.97 goals-against-average and .893 save percentage, respectable numbers on a lowly team.

A character individual who grew up in the Florida town of Plantation, Knox chose Framingham State over offers from a number of other Division 3 schools.
