TIMMINS, Ont. – The Blind River Beavers rode the 26-save shutout goaltending Garret Boyonoski to blank the Timmins Rock 4-0 Friday evening in a Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League encounter at McIntyre Arena.
Action in the opening 20 minutes saw both Boyonoski and the Rock’s Eric Jackson keep things scoreless through one period of play.
Taking advantage of an early power play in the middle stanza, the Beavers got on the board 97 seconds in the session thanks to Caleb Serre’s league-leading seventh goal of the season. He also extended a consecutive game point streak to five in the process
Up a man again later in the frame, the visitors extended their lead as Serre helped set-up Max Khull to make it 2-0 after two.
Blind River picked up some insurance on a Dylan McMahon effort with 7:53 to go before Steven Khull iced it with a shorthanded empty netter in the late going to wrap things up offensively.
Owen Robinson dished out two assists to aid the Beavers’ offensive cause as they improved to 5-0 on the season.
Jackson faced 19 attempts in defeat for Timmins, who fell to 2-4 overall.
