BLIND RIVER, Ont. – Caleb Serre scored once and doled out two assists as his three-point performance helped the Blind River Beavers defeat the Elliot Lake Wildcats 4-2 in a Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League contest Saturday at the Blind River Community Centre.

Blind River outshot Elliot Lake 11-4 in the first period and were rewarded with the night’s opening tally midway through the session as Brendan Young collected his 15th tally of the season.

The Wildcats came out quickly to knot the affair at 1-1 in the second on Carson Andreoli’s eighth of the campaign.

The Beavers went back in front later in the frame as they scored twice in a 17-second span on markers from Sam Harris and Lucas Adams.

After rallying for a come from behind triumph over the Soo Eagles Friday, Elliot Lake attempted another comeback on this night as Sean Hagan brought the visitors to within one at 5:42.

However, Caleb Serre iced it for Blind River in the final minute as his 15th overall rounded out the night’s scoring.

Ryan Mulligan chipped in with a pair of assists to aid the Beavers’ offensive cause.

Garret Boyonoski made 26 saves to record the win for the Beavers while Dominic Boily faced 47 shots in defeat for Elliot Lake.
