NOJHL Players of the Month for February named

SUDBURY, Ont. – The Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League (NOJHL) announced Wednesday that Lucas Signoretti (Espanola Paper Kings); Alex Little (Powassan Voodoos); Gavin Disano (Blind River Beavers) and Spencer Horgan (Espanola Paper Kings) have been named its Forward; Defenceman; Goaltender and Rookie of the Month, respectively, for February.

FORWARD OF THE MONTH: LUCAS SIGNORETTI, (F) ESPANOLA PAPER KINGS – Rocketing his way up the NOJHL scoring charts, Signoretti racked up a league-best 27 points in 10 outings for Espanola last month.

Producing points in every game played, including seven multi-point affairs, the 18-year-old Kinborn, Ont., product tallied 16 times and helped set-up 11 others.

Currently pacing all NOJHL skaters in point-per-game average at 2.00, Signoretti has 70 points in his initial 35 contests, with 37 markers and 33 helpers.

DEFENCEMAN OF THE MONTH: ALEX LITTLE, (D) POWASSAN VOODOOS – Pacing all league defenders in offensive production, Little provided 17 points in 11 contests by notching eight goals and assisting on nine more.

Set to turn 20 later this week, in what is scheduled to be his 100th league game, the Minden, Ont., native has seen his efforts move him into a tie for top spot in scoring among defencemen.

Through his first 47 match-ups, Little has registered 18 goals, which tops all blueliners, and dished out 35 assists for 53 points.

GOALTENDER OF THE MONTH: GAVIN DISANO, (G) BLIND RIVER BEAVERS – Disano posted a crisp unbeaten 6-0-0-0 record in the time frame for surging Blind River, who enter March having won a dozen consecutive contests.

The 19-year-old from Sault Ste. Marie, Ont., sported a 2.00 goals-against average and a solid .926 save percentage in February.

Sitting second in the NOJHL in wins, with 21, Disano sits sixth overall in average at 2.23 and seventh with his .918 save mark.

ROOKIE OF THE MONTH: SPENCER HORGAN, (D) ESPANOLA PAPER KINGS – Providing significant contributions at both ends of the ice for the Paper Kings, Horgan helped out offensively by topping all first-year skaters, as well as rookie rearguards, in points.

In all, the 17-year-old from Bowmanville, Ont., supplied five goals, while dishing out nine assists in 10 games played.

In his first year in the NOJHL, Horgan now sits second in scoring among rookie rearguards with 37 points in his opening 48 contests on a dozen markers and 25 helpers.
