NOJHL names its Eastlink TV 3 Stars of the Week

SUDBURY, Ont. – The Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League announced Monday that the forward trio of Brady Harroun (Timmins Rock); Pierson Sobush (Greater Sudbury Cubs) and Jesse Dupuis (Blind River Beavers) have been selected in initial Eastlink TV 3 Stars of the Week for the 2022-23 season.

BRADY HARROUN, (F) TIMMINS ROCK – Impressing in his Rock debut, the 20-year-old St. Albert, Alta., product tallied twice and dished out four assists, helping Timmins complete a weekend home-and-home sweep against Kirkland Lake.

He began his NOJHL career by scoring twice and setting up three others Friday and followed that up with a helper on the road Saturday, in a low-scoring triumph vs. the Gold Miners.

Harroun spent last season with the Red Lake Miners (SIJHL), playing at over a point-per-game pace, with 51, in 37 outings while helping lead them to league title and a berth in the Centennial Cup.

PIERSON SOBUSH, (F) GREATER SUDBURY CUBS – Sobush’s contributions aided in a trio of Greater Sudbury victories to commence the NOJHL campaign.

In all, he tallied in each of the three Cubs’ wins and added an assist to help his club begin the campaign at 3-0.

Dating back to last season, 18-year-old Sobush has goals in six of his past nine games, as well as points in seven, for his hometown Sudbury side.

JESSE DUPUIS, (F) BLIND RIVER BEAVERS – Hailing from Iroquois Falls, Ont., the 19-year-old Dupuis chipped in offensively, helping the Beavers reel off back-to-back wins.

Friday saw him notch the first-ever league hat trick, which featured the game-winning goal, as Blind River skated away with a triumph at Elliot Lake.

Saturday, Dupuis made a nice play on a forecheck to steal the puck and get it over to a teammate, who converted, during a home triumph over the Soo Eagles.
