GALLERY: Beavers blanks Wildcats with help from Clahassey’s 4-point night

BLIND RIVER, Ont. – Bryan Clahassey scored three times to notch his first career Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League hat trick and added an assist while Dominic Boily turned aside all 18 shots he faced to post the shutout as the Blind River Beavers went on to blank the Elliot Lake Wildcats 7-0 Saturday at the Blind River Community Centre.

The hometown side opened the scoring with the lone marker in the first period midway through on a Noah Minns effort.

Blind River then extended their cushion with a three-goal second stanza as Clahassey, A.J. Campbell and Kyle Quinn, who clicked on the power play, all found the back of the net.

In the third, Clahassey tacked on two more man advantage markers, sandwiched around an even strength effort from Campbell, to complete the one-sided decision.

Beavers’ captain Caleb Serre chipped in with three assists on the night for his 30th multi-point performance of the 2019-20 campaign.

Elliot Lake goaltender Jonathan Lemaire was peppered with 64 shots against in defeat.
