Despite being outshot 36-15, Blind River Beavers stole a 3-2 road win over Soo Thunderbirds in Game 1 of their opening-round, best-of-seven, Northern Ontario Jr. Hockey League playoff series on Saturday night at the Essar Centre.
Game 2 of the series goes this afternoon at 4 p.m. in Blind River as the eighth-seeded Beavers will try to once again upset the Thunderbirds, who finished in first place during the regular-season.
