FRENCH RIVER – Lucas Adams tallied twice and dished out three assists in pacing the Blind River Beavers to a 10-2 decision over the French River Rapids in Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League play Sunday at Noelville Arena.
It was tight after one period, where each side scored once, with Jack Tos putting Blind River on the board early before Alex Paul countered for French River in the latter portion of the opening frame.
Action in the second stanza saw the Beavers take control as they outscored the Rapids 5-1 in the session to go up by four heading to the third.
Jake Behnen, Maxwell Tucker, Justin Mauro, Tyler Nott and Adams all connected in the period for the visitors while Benjamin Naimool’s initial NOJHL goal accounted for the home side’s marker.
Blind River then added four more in the final frame to secure the road decision as Adams, Mauro, Tucker and Ethan Boyd all found the back of the net.
Of note, entering the contest with goals in nine straight games to begin the season, Beavers’ captain Caleb Serre saw his impressive tally streak come to a close.
However, the league’s leading scorer did dish out two assists in the triumph, giving him points in 10 consecutive outings.
Forward Cole Ambeault chipped in with a trio of helpers for Blind River.
Picking up the win in net for the Beavers was Wyatt Courchaine, who made 23 stops in the triumph.
Ben Montgomery and Sebastian Woods both saw time between the pipes for French River, facing a combine 34 attempts in defeat.
